Rec: Can’t Start a Fire Without a Spark by quill_and_paper

Homestuck- Johnkat BannerTitle: Can’t Start a Fire Without a Spark
Author: quill_and_paper
Canon: Homestuck
Pairing: John Egbert/Karkat Vantas
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 6,892
Summary: Speeding through space on a meteor is intensely fucking boring. It’s boring as all hell, and with everyone else left to their own devices, Karkat is really the only viable option for a prank. He’s being grouchy and closed off as per usual, but an Amazing Egbert Prank is decently high up on the list of “things that will make Karkat flip his shit.” Shaving cream is really explosive. And now you’re being chased.

Recommendation: Though I’m really not a fan of second person point of view, this is a hot, hot thing. All those predator instincts getting Karkat all hot and bothered but he’s still totally waiting for the green light from John, hot and cute.

Rec: The Other Side by Makkoska

Naruto- Hashimada BannerTitle: The Other Side
Author: Makkoska
Canon: Naruto
Pairing: Hashirama Senju/Madara Uchiha
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 10,480
Summary: When it’s all over, Madara has the chance to try to make better choices – trying again and again until he gets them right. What he missed in life, he can now make up for in death.

Recommendation: Ah fix-its, I just love these and this one fixes stuff all the way back at the beginning without ignoring what happened in canon. Bonus, this pairing is a guilty pleasure of mine that is only made better by a happy ending.

Rec: Intentions and Intoxications by TJ_Dragonblade

Naruto- Yamasai BannerTitle: Intentions and Intoxications
Author: TJ_Dragonblade
Canon: Naruto
Pairing: Yamato (Tenzou)/Sai
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 14,181
Summary: Yamato thinks his attraction to Sai inappropriate. Sai has other ideas. Alcohol is a convenient enabler. Post-war.

Recommendation: Being drunk does not lend itself to the conversation that should have been had beforehand, but thankfully they do get around to that part. But after the hot, hot sexytimes. So win-win.

Rec: A Snake Among the Leaves series by blackkat

Naruto- Jiraoro BannerTitle: A Snake Among the Leaves series
Author: blackkat
Canon: Naruto
Pairing: Jiraiya/Orochimaru; side of Minato Namikaze/Kushina Uzumaki; Kakashi Hayate/Obito Uchiha
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 24,710
Summary: Orochimaru gets one more chance. Just maybe, it will be enough to save him—and the entire world as well.

Recommendation: I can’t resist a good fix it, and this is a good one. One that I hope the author will expand at some point in the future but it stands pretty well so far. This little series also checks off two of my rare pairing boxes as well which is always satisfying.

Recommendation #485

Rec: Stepping Stones by blackkat

Naruto- Kakaobi BannerTitle: Stepping Stones
Author: blackkat
Canon: Naruto
Pairing: Kakashi Hayate/Obito Uchiha
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 13,336
Summary: In a world where he didn’t die at the bridge, Obito is a loyal Konoha shinobi, even if his Konoha is practically gone. Rather than die at the hands of Orochimaru, Obito triggers an experimental time-space jutsu that sends him across dimensions, into a world where his counterpart went insane and Kakashi is mystifyingly different.

Recommendation: I seem to read a lot of fix-it Naruto stories, that probably says something profound about my character but I’m not really in the mood to analyze it when there are cute stories to read. I really think Obito got the shaft and I love reading stories where he gets to be happy (preferably with Kakashi because of my slashy shipper heart).
